The S.K. Police Academy, Udhampur, successfully concluded a three-
day specialised course on Investigation of Murder/Homicide Cases,
conducted from 11th to 13th August 2025. Eighteen officers of the J&K
Police, from the ranks of PSI to Inspector, participated in the programme.
The course was structured to address all critical dimensions of
murder/homicide investigations, equipping participants with in-depth
knowledge and practical skills for effective case handling. Sessions were
conducted by expert faculty from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL)
J&K, Government Medical College Udhampur, and experienced trainers of
the Academy, who shared their expertise through lectures, case studies, and
interactive discussions.
The valedictory function was presided over by Shri Rajinder Kumar
Gupta, IPS, Deputy Director (Indoor), SKPA, as the Chief Guest. In his
address, Shri Gupta emphasised the importance of staying updated with
emerging challenges, modern investigative tools, and evolving forensic
techniques to ensure thorough and professional handling of serious crime
cases.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Chander Lekha, Senior
Prosecuting Officer, with assistance from ASI Rajinder Singh, faculty
member of the Academy.
