KATHUA, 29 JULY: Continuing its efforts to discourage the trade and transportation of illicit liquor, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* on Tuesday arrested one bootlegger & recovered 104 Bottles/Canes of illcit liquor i.e 96 Canes of Beer(Kingfisher/ Godfather 500 ml each) and 08 bottles of JK Excise Whisky from the vehicle Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Reg No. JK08E-7839 enrouted from Mandli towards Kohag area of PS Billawar and one person arrested.
A Police Party of P/S Billawar led by *SHO Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh Neeraj Padyar* established a naka for checking/ Frisking of vehicles at Kohag, Billawar. One vehicle bearing Reg.No.Jk08E- 7839, coming from Mandli towards Kohag stopped for checking on suspicious ground, During checking , 08 Bottles of JK Special Whisky 750/750 ml each, 48 No.’ of Beer Cane (Kingfisher) 500 ml each and 48 no’s of Beer Cane ( Godfather) 500 ml each have been recovered from vehicle and seized on spot . Driver of the vehicle namely Ajeet Singh S/O Mian Singh R/o Dhanuparole, Tehsil Billawar Distt Kathua has been arrested. In this regard a case FIR No. 112/2025 U/S 48(a)/Excise Act stands registered at this PS Billawar . further investigation is going on.
