In a significant action against illegal timber smuggling, Jammu Police seized a vehicle loaded with illegally cut Khair wood near Kanger Morh (Kargil Colony) in the Gharota area.
The vehicle, a Tata Safari, was found carrying approximately 15 to 20 quintals of Khair wood, allegedly being transported for commercial purposes without valid documentation.
A Forest Offence Report *(FOR) has been registered in connection with the incident, and the concerned forest officials have been duly informed for further investigation and legal action.
