JAMMU POLICE ARRESTED DRUG PEDDLER IN R.S. PURA; HEROIN(CHITA) AND WEIGHING MACHINE SIEZED

Continuing its actions against drug trafficking, Jammu & Kashmir Police in R.S. Pura have arrested a suspected drug peddler and recovered approximately 12 grams of heroin (“chitta”) along with an electronic weighing machine.
The operation was carried out on 10 August 2025 by a police team from Police Station R.S. Pura, led by PSI Affan Nazir and assisted by other officials under the supervision of the SHO Police Station R.S Pura,Inspector R. S.Parihar.
While on routine patrolling near Khamb, close to the Power Grid Station, the team intercepted Nishan Singh, son of Avtar Singh, a resident of Old Diwangarh, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of the contraband and weighing equipment.
A formal case under FIR No. 169/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station R.S. Pura. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the narcotics and identify potential links in the supply network.
This arrest reflects the Jammu Police’s sustained commitment to curb the menace of drugs in our communities. “We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to drug peddling to their nearest police station.”
