Drug Peddler Arrested with Charas at Chenani by Udhampur Police.

In a sustained drive against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police today arrested a drug peddler during routine naka checking at Motor Shed Naka Point, NHW Chenani. During checking of vehicles coming from the Kashmir side, a red Tavera taxi bearing registration number UK08TA-0812 was signalled to stop.
On questioning, the driver disclosed his identity as Saleem Khan S/o Zaffarullah R/o Sonch Brah, Tehsil Shangus, District Anantnag. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 229.38 grams of Charas, concealed inside the driver-side window panel.
The driver failed to provide any satisfactory explanation for possessing the contraband.
In this regard, FIR No. 122/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani and the accused has been arrested for further investigation.
