BJP SC Morcha leaders browse through historic photographs of India from 1947
JAMMU, August 8, 2025:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) SC Morcha, Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, has decided to observe August 14 as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Divas) to commemorate the tragic consequences of India’s Partition. This decision was made at a meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, as announced by State SC Morcha President Dharminder Kumar.
Dharminder Kumar stated that the Partition, which took effect on August 14, 1947, resulted in immense trauma and suffering for countless citizens, displacing lakhs of people. Many lost everything and were forced to live as refugees, while numerous others lost their lives in the violent clashes that followed, he said.
R.L.Kaith added that by observing this day, the party aims to pay heartfelt tributes to the victims and reaffirm its commitment to safeguarding national unity, integrity, and strengthening communal harmony and brotherhood. Kaith also mentioned that on August 15, Independence Day, BJP karyakartas will reach out to people across communities, faiths, ideologies, and political affiliations to distribute national flags to every household as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, encouraging them to hoist the tricolour and celebrate the spirit of unity and patriotism.
Earlier, Morcha President Dharminder Kumar accoompanied by DDC Balbir Lal, Jagdish Bhagat, R.L.Kaith, HRB Loria, and other party leaders, browsed through a collection of historic photographs of India from 1947 in an exhibition organized at the party headquarters.
Prominent attendees of the meeting included State Prabhari SÇ Morcha Jagdish Bhagat, DDC Balbir Lal, State Secretary Rakesh Dev, Office Secretary HRB Loria, Deepak Pandey, Subedar Baldev Chand Sandhu (Retd) and Havildar Des Raj Kaith ((Retd).
