Baramulla Police Arrests Drug Peddler; Contraband Substance Recovered.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Baramulla Police today apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking near Gingel Bridge.
During the checking at around 1730 hours, one individual identified as Tahir Hameed S/O Abdul Hameed Khan R/O Gingel, who was coming from Chandanwari towards Gingel, attempted to flee on noticing the police party. However, the alert naka personnel apprehended him tactfully. Upon search, 07 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 99/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Uri, and investigation has been set into motion.
