Jammu, July 30 — Advocate Sumeshwar Kohli, Incharge Legal Cell and Core Committee Member of Movement Kalki (Future Thinkers), has appreciated the District Administration for imposing a ban on the sale of hazardous Gattu (Chinese Manja) and lauded the effective steps taken by police authorities in arresting dealers violating these orders.
However, Advocate Kohli emphasized that merely booking the offenders under Section 188 IPC is not sufficient. He urged the law enforcement agencies to also charge them with appropriate offences for providing and selling this lethal substance, which has caused numerous deaths and injuries of innocent people in various incidents.
“This is not just a violation of orders; it is a grave offence endangering lives. Those involved in selling such dangerous material must face stringent legal consequences,” Kohli said.
Movement Kalki reiterated its commitment to supporting the administration in eradicating this menace and ensuring the safety of the public.
