The FIR has been lodged on the complaint of an associate professor at a medical college. The woman doctor, in her complaint, has said that Mehraj Malik used social media platforms to publicly issue threats and make abusive, gendered, and derogatory remarks against her.
The workers of DOGRA FRONT & SHIV SENA under the leadership of president Mr ASHOK GUPTA took out a massive rally in Jammu city demanding action on the FIR booked against MLA Mehraj Malik.
In the live proceedings of the visit, the lone AAP MLA from Jammu and Kashmir, was seen scolding junior doctors present inside the emergency room for not wearing aprons. He also scolded paramedical staff allegedly for not maintaining the roster record of doctors while also accusing the doctors of indulging in private practice during working hours.
The party president said that The MLA has the authority to write to the minister or the administrative secretary and if they feel an inquiry needs to be done, we are ready to face that. And if someone is found guilty, action should be taken against him or her but resorting to hooliganism and threatening doctors is not acceptable in a civilized society.
He further stated that the resident doctors feel threatened and they are frightened by the conduct of MLA Doda and they are getting calls from their homes to return.
The language used by the said MLA, now widely circulated in the media, is shameful — even by the standards of the most uncivilized elements of society. He was expected to exercise discretion and responsibility before uttering words that have caused significant emotional distress not only to the concerned doctor but to society at large, especially the female population.
He further stated that this is not the first time the said MLA has targeted the medical community for cheap publicity, without understanding the difficult and strenuous duties performed by doctors. He welcomed the complaint lodged by the doctor against Mehraj Malik and urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation, including into his past behaviour.
Mr Ashok Gupta assured the medical fraternity that full protection will be provided to them against such criminal behaviour, regardless of the position of the person involved. He particularly assured female doctors that SHIV SENA DOGRA FRONT workers stand firmly with them against any misadventures by such unruly elements who have no respect for the law or societal norms.
The party workers who were present at the time of protest were Raju, Bantu, Ganesh, Kalu, Prem, Abhishek, Sunil, Naresh, Vikky and various others were present.
