KATHUA; 22 AUG:- J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* has recovered 8.45 grams of Heroin(Chitta) like substance at Chakra near Tarnah Bridge PS Hiranagar and one drug peddler arrested on spot.
On 21/08/2025 a Police team of PS Hiranagar led by Insp. Ashish Sharma under the close supervision of *SP Ops Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch* established a routine naka at Chakra Near Tarnah Bridge Hiranagar area to keep a check on suspicious movement and illegal activities.
During naka duty, the police party noticed one person en routed under suspicious manner. On being stopped and questioned, he disclosed his identity as Ranja S/o Nashar Din R/o Sunkhal A/P Chann Khatrian Tehsil Hiranagar. Upon his personal search, *8.45 grams* of Heroin Chitta like substance has been recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 120/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Hiranagar , and the accused was taken into custody on the spot. The recovered contraband has been seized as per legal procedures, and further investigation is in progress to trace the source and linkages of the narcotic supply.
