GDC Katra Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervor
Govt. Degree College Katra celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony at 8:55 a.m. followed by an inspiring address by the worthy Principal, Dr. Rajni Bhagat. The programme began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, after which Principal Dr. Bhagat addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the day and paying tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. Two students, Shivani Charak of B.A Sem III and Sushma Devi B.A. Sem. II delivered speeches on the supreme sacrifices made by India’s freedom fighters. A certificate and memento distribution ceremony was also held, wherein participants and position holders were felicitated for their achievements. Dr. Usha Sharmapresented the NSS Annual Report, outlining the activities and accomplishments of the unit from the month of January 2025 to till date. The event was anchored by students Neha Kumari and Riya Bazal. The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of all semesters, along with faculty and non-teaching staff of the college. The programme concluded on a note of unity, pride, and respect for the nation.
