Jammu, 29 July 2025:
Dharminder Kumar, DDC Bishnah, formally took charge as the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha in a grand and enthusiastic gathering of senior leaders, activists, and supporters, at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The occasion was marked by the traditional tying of the saffron turban by J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, symbolizing honor, responsibility, and the party’s confidence in his leadership.
The ceremony was attended by BJP Vice President Adv. Rekha Mahajan, State General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, DDC Chairpersons Bharat Bhushan (Jammu) and Lal Chand (Udhampur), MLAs Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Chander Prakash Ganga, Sunil Bhardwaj, SC Morcha Prabhari Jagdish Bhagat, Ex-MLA and District President Neelam Langeh, and a galaxy of other dignitaries and party functionaries.
Congratulating Dharminder Kumar on his elevation, Sat Sharma called it a proud moment for the party, terming the SC Morcha as a pillar of strength in the mission of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas. Dharminder’s appointment will further deepen our connect with the Scheduled Caste community and energize our grassroots efforts, he said and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Morcha will set new benchmarks in community service and party outreach.
Reiterating BJP’s resolve against terrorism, Sat Sharma strongly condemned the recent cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, terming it a barbaric and inhuman act aimed at derailing peace. He affirmed that terrorism has no place in a civilized society. The Modi government stands rock-solid in its zero-tolerance approach. Every drop of blood shed by innocents will be avenged. Peace will prevail and perpetrators will be punished, he said.
Several senior leaders including MLAs Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Dr. Rajiv Bhagat, Surinder Bhagat, former MLA Sham Choudhary, and others congratulated Dharminder Kumar and expressed confidence in his ability to steer the Morcha with vision and commitment.
They said that the party’s Morchas are the bridge between the party and the people. With Dharminder at the helm, the SC Morcha will reach new heights, they said.
In his address, Dharminder Kumar expressed deep gratitude to the party leadership, especially Sat Sharma, for reposing faith in him.
“It is a matter of great pride and responsibility. I pledge to work tirelessly to advance the party’s ideology, connect with every section of society, and serve the Scheduled Caste community with full devotion,” he stated.
Gulshan Bhagat conducted the programme proceedings and Seema Devi presented a vote of thanks.
