KATHUA, 08 JULY: Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS today recovered approx. 7.61 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Lohai Bridge near Nagrota area of P/S Basohli, 02 drug peddlers were arrested and narcotics substance got seized on spot.
On 07-07-2025 a Police team of PS Basohli under the supervision of *SDPO Basohli Sh. Suresh Kumar and SHO PS Basohli Prob. DySP Miss. Geetanjli Gupta* in the presence of Executive Magistrate Basohli Sh. Bhajan Lal during naka checking at Lohai Bridge Basohli near Nagrota noticed two suspects enrouted towards Basohli who were directed to stop for checking. On physical checking approx. 7.61 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics recovered from the possession of 1. Rahul Sharma S/o Pawan Kumar R/o Mahanpur, Basohli District Kathua 2. Rahul Singh S/o Shaam Singh R/o Mahanpur Basohli.
Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 7.61 grams Heroine like substance was seized and two drug peddlers were arrested.On this a case vide FIR No. 64/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Basohli while further investigation is underway.
District Police consistent efforts against drug peddlers try to reassure the community members that we are making untiring efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
