Poonch Police Cracks Down on Illegal Mining; Heavy Machinery Seized.

Poonch, 09 December 2025:
In a continued drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, Police Station Surankote today seized four tippers, one JCB machine and one tractor involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the area.
Acting on specific information and during routine naka checking, the police team intercepted these vehicles found engaged in illegal mining activities in violation of the Mining Act and environmental norms.
Following the seizure, the concerned Mining Department has been formally informed for further necessary action under law.
District Police Poonch remains committed to curbing illegal mining and safeguarding the ecological balance of the region. Strict action will continue against all violators.
