Poonch Police Seize Three Vehicles; Six Bovines Rescued in Firm Action Against Illegal Transportation.

Poonch, 03 December 2025:
District Police Poonch has intensified its drive against the illegal transportation of bovines, leading to the seizure of three vehicles and the rescue of six bovines during a late-night operation conducted by teams of Police Station Surankote and Police Station Mandi.
Acting promptly on specific inputs, police teams intercepted and seized two vehicles within the jurisdiction of Police Station Surankote and one vehicle under Police Station Mandi. Upon inspection, six bovines were found being transported without mandatory permissions. All animals were safely rescued.
Accordingly, two separate FIRs have been registered at Police Station Surankote and one FIR at Police Station Mandi under relevant provisions of law. Investigation in all three cases has been initiated to identify the full chain involved in the illegal activity.
District Police Poonch reiterates its firm commitment to preventing bovine smuggling and ensuring lawful transportation practices in the region. Citizens are requested to continue sharing credible information to strengthen police action against such illegal activities.
