Jammu, 02 December 2025,— The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Jammu & Kashmir UT, strongly condemns the derogatory and irresponsible comments made by Swami Anand Swaroop against Mahatma Jyotiba Rao Phule, one of India’s greatest social reformers and champions of education, equality, and women’s rights.
Mahatma Jotiba Phule dedicated his entire life to fighting caste discrimination, promoting girls’ education, and uplifting the oppressed. His contributions laid the foundation for social justice movements across India. Any attempt to insult or diminish his legacy is deeply hurtful to millions and an attack on India’s social fabric.
The BSP states that:
Swami Anand Swaroop’s words are highly objectionable, inflammatory, and unacceptable in a civilized society.
Such statements appear to be made deliberately to create social tension and hurt the sentiments of Bahujan communities.
Phule’s legacy is above any controversy, and no irresponsible remarks can reduce his historic contribution to nation-building.
BSP demands that appropriate legal action be taken against those who attempt to spread caste hatred or insult national social reformers.
The BSP calls upon the administration of Jammu & Kashmir and national authorities to take strict cognizance of the issue and ensure that such divisive statements are not repeated in the future.
The party also appeals to the public to maintain peace and continue following the path shown by Mahatma Jotiba Phule—education, equality, and social harmony.
