Continuing its efforts to discourage the trade and transportation of illicit liquor, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma -IPS* arrested one bootlegger & recovered 19 bottles of JK Excise Whisky i.e ( 11 Bottles of 750 ml each & 08 Bottles of JK special Whisky 180 ml each) from the possession of one person at Sallan area of PS Hiranagar as well as seized vehicle (motorcycle) involved.
On 12-11-2025 police team led by SHO PS Hiranagar Insp Ashish Sharma under the supervision of *SP Ops. Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS* and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch during naka/ checking in its jurisdictional area at Sallan apprehended one person namely Sunil Kumar Sharma S/o Ram Krishan R/o Parangoli Tehsil Dinga Amb District Kathua who was enrouted from Dyalachak side towards Dinga Amb on his Motorcyle bearing Reg. no. JK08G-1619. During checking 19 bottles of JK Excise Whisky i.e( 11 Bottles of 750 ml each, 08 Bottles of JK special Whisky 180 ml each) recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR No 159/2025 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at PS Hiranagar.
*SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma- IPS* assures that strict action will be taken against anyone caught involved in illegal Trade/transportation of illicit liquor.
