August 26: Under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), Shopian Police today flagged off a group of 83 students from District Shopian for a week-long Bharat Darshan Tour. The contingent is accompanied by 05 caretakers, including DySP DAR Shopian. The tour was flagged off by SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS at District Police Lines Shopian in presence of ASP Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian and other senior officers/officials of District Shopian.

SSP Shopian while interacting with the students, urged them to utilize this opportunity to broaden their horizons, learn about the nation’s cultural diversity, and imbibe the values of unity, peace, and brotherhood. He highlighted that the tour is designed to provide exposure to India’s history, heritage, development, and modern institutions, thereby boosting confidence and personality development.
The tour, fully sponsored by J&K Police, covers all logistics including air travel, boarding, lodging, guided visits, and AC transport. Students will visit New Delhi and Bangalore, exploring historical monuments, educational institutions, tourist landmarks, and industrial units. Each participant has been provided with a complete tour kit including tracksuit, shoes, cap, and carry bag.
Parents and students expressed gratitude to J&K Police for this initiative, appreciating the effort to channelize youth energy positively through education, cultural exposure, and career awareness.
