KATHUA, 14 AUG : Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* recovered approx. 6.82 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of P/S Lakahnpur, 01 drug peddler was arrested, vehicle(electric auto) as well as narcotics substance got seized on spot.
On 13-07-2025 a Police team of PS Lakhanpur led by Insp. Tariq Ahmed SHO P/S Lakhanpur under the supervision of *Addl SP Kathua Sh. Rahul Charak JKPS* and DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Ritesh Samyal during naka checking noticed one suspect en routed from Jagatpur towards NHW Lakhanpur on electric auto bearing Reg. No. JK08Q-6023 who was directed to stop for checking. On physical checking approx. 6.82 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics recovered from the possession of *Ranjeet Singh S/o Hari Singh R/o Near Govt Middle School Jandore Tehsil & District Kathua*.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 6.82 grams Heroine like substance was seized and one drug peddler was arrested as well as vehicle involved also got seized.On this a case vide FIR No. 98/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur while further investigation is underway.
District Police consistent efforts against drug peddlers try to reassure the community members that we are making untiring efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
