01 DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED; 5.88 GRAMS OF HEROIN (CHITTA) LIKE SUBSTANCE RECOVERED; 01 MOTORBIKE SEIZED BY PS HIRANAGAR.

KATHUA; 29 OCT :- J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma -IPS* has recovered 5.88 grams of Heroin(Chitta) like substance from Shamshan Ghat area of PS Hiranagar and one drug peddler arrested and seized the vehicle(motorbike) involved. On 28/10/2025 a Police team of PS Hiranagar led by Insp. Ashish Sharma under the close supervision of *SP Ops Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch* established a routine naka at Hiranagar area to keep a check on suspicious movement and illegal activities. During naka duty, the police party noticed one person en routed on motorbike bearing Reg. No. JK08P-6251 under suspicious manner. On being stopped and questioned, he disclosed his identity as 1. Ajay Kumar S/o Darshan Lal R/o Kattal Gujjaran. Upon his personal search, *5.88 grams* of Heroin Chitta like substance have been recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 153/2025 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Hiranagar , and the accused was taken into custody on the spot. The recovered contraband has been seized as per legal procedures, and further investigation is in progress to trace the source and linkages of the narcotic supply.
